Dear Germantown Student-Athletes and Parents:
Reports of coronavirus continue to increase around the world. It is important that GA does everything we can to keep our community safe. As a follow up to Mr. Schellhas’ email, I wanted to provide some specifics for student-athletes. As athletes are typically at greater risk for the spread of infectious diseases due to their often close contact with one another, it is important that you adhere to these best-practices.
-Wash hands regularly with liquid soap
-If you have a fever, you must stay home fever-free for 24 hours.
-Shower after athletic activities
-Do not share mouthguards
-Do not share towels or other personal hygiene products
-Wash uniforms after each use
-Wash practice attire daily
-Wash personal gear (pads, shin guards, helmets) once/week
-Do not share water bottles or cups. Sharing “squirt” type bottles are generally OK provided that athletes are not putting their months on the end.
-Refrain from unnecessary bodily contact (handshakes, high fives, etc). GA is temporarily suspending the customary handshake/high fives with opponents. Instead use “air fives”.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
